Meet Ardere

We sit down with Nicole and Lauren from wellness brand Ardere. We absolutely love this brand, not only are their products gorgeous but the girls share a true passion for health and wellbeing and offer amazing insight and expertise in nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle.

 So wonderful to talk to you Nicole and Lauren. Firstly, how did Ardere start?

ARDERE was born from our own personal journeys into the world of wellness. In 2012, Co-founder, Lauren was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (more commonly referred to as M.E. or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). After failing to find help through orthodox medicine she was determined to treat herself as naturally as possible and discovered that by making specific dietary and lifestyle changes, she was able to alleviate and overcome many of my symptoms.

Similarly, sister and Co-founder, Nicole went on the journey with her after suffering with stress and anxiety in her early twenties. We have experienced first-hand the power of clever lifestyle choices. Our collective passion became sharing our knowledge with others. We began exploring techniques, natural products and recipes that not only promote a profound sense of physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, but also that can be used to support a variety of ailments and reduce your toxic load.

We realised that our all-encompassing message is that we wanted to ‘evoke people’s glow’ from the inside out, hence the name ARDERE came about which is a latin translation of ‘glow’. We decided to pool all of our of knowledge over the last 10 years into ARDERE. Lauren trained as a Nutritionist and Naturopath so she could help people with similar issues to what she suffered, and Nicole trained as a wellness coach and advocate of self-care through developing natural organic products.

What an amazing story, thank you for sharing . Leading on from that, what is your inspiration behind the brand? 

The inspiration behind the brand was seeing how much nutrition, lifestyle and non-toxic living could enhance people’s wellbeing and even moreover, help them overcome various ailments. We found it extremely difficult to find a wellbeing brand that embodied this 360-degree holistic approach whilst also being evidence-based. All of our advice is from qualified experts you can trust, you will even find that any health claims and advise in our articles in our journal are all backed with medical and clinical trial references. 

Meanwhile, our self-care spa products are natural, made with organic ingredients and are results-driven. We believe you should feel confident in that are nourishing your skin and bodies. We know how much of what we put on our skin seeps into our bodies and can have an effect on your health, so we want to ensure that you feel good about what you consume, as well as being confident that the product is functional, does the job its intended to do and delivers on its promises of efficacy.

We really appreciate trustworthy brands and am sure our customers do too. And how have you seen the company grow?

We have seen real growth in people being active in their approach to their health. The wellness industry has boomed over the last 10 years, and we have observed that much of this has come from people trying to tackle their own health concerns and recognising that it’s not always as simple as taking a pill that will fix you, but how nutrition and lifestyle can be transformational in helping you achieve your wellbeing goals.

We love that people are not sitting back and being passive but instead taking their health into their own hands, educating themselves and implementing positive changes that is making them healthier and happier. 

It is so important, and wonderful to hear you are helping people on this journey. If you could describe Ardere in 1 paragraph what would it be?

ARDERE (pronounced ‘ar-deh-ray’, a translation of glow) is a 360-degree wellbeing company focussed on optimising your wellbeing through natural, effective self-care products and expert nutritional therapy, born from the founders own personal health journeys.

And what are your favourite 3 products in the collection?

Each one of our products we saw a need for and are personal to us, inspired by our own personal health and life journeys whilst also each one has a specific therapeutic purpose for enhancing people’s wellbeing. Our 3 favourite products from the collection include:

  • Reethi Candle – is creamy and indulgent. With notes of white geranium and sandalwood we based our Reethi candle on an island in the Maldives called the Reethi Rah, which stands for ‘beautiful island’ in Dhivehi, so our candle means ‘beautiful’ whisking us away to paradise whenever we need a bit of escapism and relaxation.
  • Moroccan Tea House Candle – full of wild mint and incredibly refreshing. We have always been obsessed with fresh mint and Moroccan tea, we love the aroma and ability for it to ease feelings of anxiety whilst refreshing the senses. We couldn’t find any herbaceous or mint themed candles anywhere, so we set out to bring about one of our favourite aromas to light in the home. We find people love to particularly light this scent in their kitchens.
  • Palo Santo - also known as ‘Holy Wood’ is perfect for use with smudging and incense and is renowned for producing a powerful essential oil. Ethically sourced from South America, ours is derived sustainably from naturally fallen trees.
  • Palo Santo is used for its purifying and cleansing anti-microbial properties and is known to support emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Lighting it can help to clear negative energy and reduce anxiety. With sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon, its unique aroma will leave you feeling calm and uplifted. We particularly like to use Palo Santo here at ARDERE during meditation practices, to alleviate feelings of stress and cleanse our space.

Our brand ethos is the foundations of everything we do and create at ARDERE. When we are producing a new product or service, we bring everything back to the question of “how can we maximise people’s wellbeing without harming the planet?”. Our products are rooted in always ensuring they’re non-toxic and natural whilst still being results driven and as sustainable as possible. The non-toxic values and natural philosophy is very much rooted in how the brand came to be. Ultimately, ARDERE is about pioneering conscious living.

How would you describe your typical customer?

Our typical customer is one that is conscious about what they consume. They consider the affects their choices have on not only their own wellbeing but also how their choices may impact the planet too.

We very much take an active approach at ARDERE to educate our customers on ingredients lists, the processes that we take to be as sustainable as possible so that we arm our customers with the education so that they can make informed choices.

Amazing, and what is next for Ardere?

ARDERE is so excited for what’s to come this year, and that is our launch into natural and organic bath, body and skincare. We have been working on our upcoming products for years!! Ensuring they’re not only natural, but that they truly work and deliver results!
